Cortland LC-13 Lead Core Line weighs around 13.5 grams per foot and has a breaking strength of 28 pound. When buying a line for your rod the line weight will not necessarily match the rod's suggested weight.

General: Match the rod's weight with DoubleTaper (D/T) lines. With Weight Forward (W/F) lines, step up at least one and sometimes two line sizes. When using 30 foot Shooting Heads such as a plastic coated running line like the Talon Running Line, step up three line sizes.
With D/T's and W/F's you may have noticed that the better casters use the suggested line size or one size less because they are using the rod to do more of the work in the cast.
